Who We Are

Emerging from the 100-year legacy of the Australian Post-Tel Institute Qld Ltd, canopy Community focuses on education, social support, and fostering connections within communities where our early education centres are located. Funded by canopy Early Education, we aim to support vulnerable community members through on-site and community-embedded programs.

Our Story

With roots in the century-old Australian Post-Tel Institute Qld Ltd, we have a longstanding commitment to education and community support. In response to the 2022 SE Qld floods, we expanded our efforts to include emergency relief, providing furnishings to affected families and practical assistance. Our annual Christmas Giving Program continues to bring joy and essential support to hundreds of women and children each year, through partnered giving with our key stakeholders. Beneficiaries include The Lady Musgrave Trust, Queensland Women’s Legal Service and Pyjama Foundation.

Community Events and Workshops

We host events that bring people together, strengthen community ties, and foster social engagement.

Support Services

We offer essential support such as emergency relief, food, clothing, school readiness packs, housing assistance, and counselling to those in need.

Our initiatives connect different age groups through activities like playgroups, mentorship programs, and community gardening.

We work closely with schools to facilitate co-curricular activities including school readiness packs for those needing assistance and ensure a seamless transition from Kindy to Prep.

Our collaboration includes co-curricular activities, childcare provision, and parenting skills development.

Weekly Food Donations

We donate food weekly to support efforts to serve meals to the homeless and disadvantaged.

Healthy Lifestyle Articles

Lifeshape.com.au contributes articles to our newsletter, promoting healthy living.

Parent Information Nights

In collaboration with a range of community partners such as Argus Family Services and a variety of allied health providers, these events provide valuable information and resources to parents.

Queensland Gives
Christmas Gift Appeal

We participate in this annual appeal to support Women’s Legal Service Qld, Pyjama  Foundation and The Lady Musgrave Trust.

Sustainability Program

Supported by Coles and Officeworks, we utilise donated materials for sustainability efforts.

Support for Local Businesses

Many local businesses display our brochures and help spread the word about our work.

We proudly support the ‘Labels on the Lawn’ fundraiser, benefiting the Queensland Women’s Legal Service.
